SPONSOR A GRAND AWARDS CATEGORY Fund the Awards for one or more of the 21 different categories of 2021 ISEF projects. The name of each Category Sponsor will be associated with the Awards in the Society’s media announcements. The sponsor will be branded on Virtual Exhibit Hall category signage, recognized in ISEF promotional materials, and have an exhibit booth in the Internship and STEM Career Hall. Sponsors enjoy many other benefits, as well. SPONSOR AN ISEF EVENT AND OTHER BRANDING OPPORTUNITIES Provide support for an event, ranging from an exciting panel with superstars to the finalists’ Pin Exchange. Also, many of the logistical aspects of ISEF, including the Finalist Virtual Exhibit Hall Security, Interpreters, and Volunteer Center provide excellent opportunities for sponsors to be associated with ISEF and show outstanding support. Sponsorship Guidelines

ABC Company wishes to contribute $50,000 to the Affiliated Fair Critical Needs Fund. ABC Company also wishes to sponsor the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Panel at $50,000. With a $100,000 total contribution, ABC Company would then be recognized as at the Developer level and would receive the sponsor benefits at that level. (See Benefits Matrix on page 6 for the list of benefits.) DEF Company wishes to sponsor the Materials Science Grand Awards Category, requiring a total investment of $100,000. DEF Company receives the Developer Plus level of recognition benefits. (See Benefits Matrix on page 6 for the list of benefits.) EXAMPLES OF RECOGNITION LEVEL CALCULATION

Meet the New Generation of Innovators ISEF: The World’s Premier Pre-Collegiate STEM Competition

Since 1950, Society for Science & the Public has provided an international stage for the world’s best and brightest young scientists through its International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s premier STEM competition. Every year, as part of the ISEF pipeline, tens of millions of students compete in science fairs around the globe at local, regional, and national levels. Hundreds of thousands rise to compete in the Society’s more than 400 ISEF-affiliated fairs in more than 80 countries, regions, and territories. Top winners at these fairs—about 1,800 students, almost half of them girls—earn the right to compete each May in the weeklong ISEF event. More than one quarter of the finalists either have a patent on their research or have a patent pending or in application. Student finalists showcase their independent research in 21 judging categories and compete for nearly $5 million in awards. The subject of two recent, critically acclaimed movies ( Inventing Tomorrow and Science Fair ), ISEF inspires millions of students to think differently and build a better future. Alumni—including Nobel Prize winners—have gone on to receive many honors, found companies, create solutions to the world’s most intractable problems, and contribute to a more scientifically literate society.

Support Affiliated Fairs Critical Needs

With the current global pandemic and related financial crisis, the Society’s affiliated fair network needs additional financial support. The Society is building an Affiliated Fair Emergency Need and COVID-19 Transition Fund (Fund) to support our fairs on the ground in this time of crisis. In order to adequately and equitably support our affiliated fairs, the Society seeks at least $250,000 in contributions to build a stable and meaningful Fund. The Fund will allow fairs to apply for grants to meet their basic operational needs and/or address the challenges they face during this time. Needs and challenges include transitioning to a virtual fair platform or producing an in-person fair that requires additional resources due to social distancing or pandemic-related requirements. Affiliated fair needs may include, for instance, laptops, an online application system, equitable online judging, and/or socially distanced in-person fairs (requiring additional space and protective materials).

BENEFITS INCLUDE • Being featured as a sponsor in the Virtual ISEF program book, on the website and in the Society’s Annual Report. • Sponsors of $25,000 will receive a booth in the Internship and STEM Career Hall. • For sponsors who give $25,000 or more, a 50% discount on an advertisement in Science News , whose in-depth reporting on science topics now reaches 4,600+ high schools and 100,000 digital and print subscribers. DESIGNATE YOUR SUPPORT FOR A SPECIFIC AFFILIATED FAIR

• You may also identify a specific affiliated fair or fairs for a specific geographical region that you would like to support. We will contact the affiliate in order to arrange acceptance of your sponsorship funds. • Your support for affiliated fairs will make you part of the sponsor community and entitle you to sponsor benefits based on level of support. The projects created by ISEF finalists represent leading ideas that address important questions and challenges facing our world. Each project is assigned to one of 21 different categories. In 2019, there were approximately 50–100 projects in each category. Grand Awards Category Sponsors provide $100,000–$200,000 per awards category. Projects involving the study of the thought processes and behavior of humans and other animals in their interactions with the environment, examined through observational and experimental methods. The subcategories provide additional guidance and definition as well as a level of specificity to match judges’ expertise with student projects.
